“Everybody Street illuminates the lives and work of New York’s iconic street photographers and the incomparable city that has inspired them for decades. The documentary pays tribute to the spirit of street photography through a cinematic exploration of New York City, and captures the visceral rush, singular perseverance and at times immediate danger customary to these artists. Covering nine decades of street photography, “Everybody Street” explores the careers and influences of many notable photographers––a number of whom have never been documented, featuring: Bruce Davidson, Elliott Erwitt, Jill Freedman, Bruce Gilden, Joel Meyerowitz, Rebecca Lepkoff, Mary Ellen Mark, Jeff Mermelstein, Clayton Patterson, Ricky Powell, Jamel Shabazz, Martha Cooper, and Boogie, with historians Max Kozloff and Luc Sante."

Jamel Shabazz
- Jamel Shabazz is best known for his street portraiture of New Yorkers in the eighties. Shabazz has consistently delivered images of life, active bodies, colour, fashion and individual confidence. He is a photographer, lecturer and teacher of the visual arts. His work spans decades and he has traveled the world sharing his gift of photography. Jamel continues to inspire with his universal message of love and peace. I think Jamel captivates everyone's sight and thoughts in the slideshow by expressing emotion and exposing the inner beauty that exists through struggle.
Image Analysis
This photograph is of a group of children which look very happy, they are perhaps friends and are maybe living in the same neighbourhood as there are houses in the background. It looks like a normal summers day as they are all dressed in shorts. This image is full of action as the boy on the far left is playing with water and they are all posing for the picture. The picture has colour which suggests that it was taken in the recent years. I think Jamel Shabazz was standing upright whilst taking this photo and was standing small distance away from the children. Jamel has chosen not to isolate the background so we visualise the houses, this creates a sense of friendship and community.
Photo challenge - Cropped
WWW: What went well with this image is the girl on the right is cropped and they looked like they were focusing on their painting and looked like they have been working for a quite a while, the painting looked really professional as well. Also I asked them to pose in a way where they looked busy.
EBI: This picture would have been better if I had to better camera to take the image.

WWW: What went well with this picture is that it was staged as we asked the sixth former to stay still whilst we copied how she was standing so I made it look like a successful image as it looks very professional.
EBI: This picture would of been better if I took the full picture of the girl on the left anyways I am quite happy with the results.

Image Evaluations
This is my favourite image taken by the Canon because of the different colours in the building which looks like a friendly, lively atmosphere as you get a glimpse of the inspirational words on the walls. This image is still and very clearly organised because it is not blurry and you can see everything in full detail. This image is composed in a way that you can see the full picture of the girl and boy from the head to the shoes which means the photographer was close by when they captured the image from wide angle shot. There is a lot of information in this image as we can clearly see that the girl in the right is busy texting on her phone, and the boy on the right is smiling and is possibly trying to get the girl's attention. The distance between the people and the corridor makes the school look very big and spacious.
Photo challenge - Shadows and Reflections
These are a few photographs which I have taken around the school which demonstrate one of the ways of seeing which is 'looking down'. I used the second floor of the building to take some interesting images of people walking around the school. I particularly like the image of the boy walking alone across the concourse. I like his shadow falling across and the shadow of the building too. I also like the fact that there is a lot of space around the boy.
