DisguiseCecilia Paredes
Cecilia Paredes was born in Lima, Peru. Her pictures are all based on matching her subjects within the image with materials which match the background. I think it is really creative as most people would not think about doing to same thing as her, also it looks very complex. One thing that makes Cecilia's photographs looks so interesting is that she is very original with her ideas and the picture are unique as her uses different colours and patterns. Her images are even more impressive as the only thing visible is the back of her head which makes the photo look very disguised. The colours in her images are bright and bold and the patterns are also very bold and very bright too.
The images are all composed in a similar way with the subject in the centre of the image. The position and the pose of the person is static, this adds a mysterious touch to the image. Gjon Mili
Gjon Mili is a light painter from Albania, which has inspired me to create images of disguise using light painting. His images are really eye-catching and unique as shown on the image . Gjon's ideas are very creative, he managed to take light painting to another level by attaching the light to a pair of skates which I find very intriguing and makes me want to choose to do light painting for one of my final pieces.
Mikaela Ivanova
These images were created by an photographer called Mihaela Ivanova, her images looks very unique as it looks like she's trying to convey a message, especially the last image. The man has a distressed face and is shouting, the picture is exaggerated as his eyes are replaced with two sets of teeth which makes him look even more furious. Her other pictures are very inventive, which maybe represents two sides of a person.
Alex Box
Alex Box is a photographer that uses peoples faces to disguise them, using a range of different colours and patterns. Some of his photos have different compositions to exaggerate the disguises, whilst some of the photos are more close up than others to emphasis the look. The people in the images appear to have emotionless faces whilst some of the images seem chaotic as there is patterns and colours on their faces.
If I could ask the photographer two questions, I would ask why he used the patterns and he used and how he achieved such successful pictures using simple, yet vibrant colours to decorate their faces, also who/what inspired him make these types of interesting designs and what message is he trying to deliver through these images. Lorenzo Vitturi
Lorenzo Vitturi captures the significance of Ridley Road's market before it was regenerated. In all his images, he uses every scrap objects that he could possibly get to create the most extraordinary pieces that is guaranteed to capture your vision. He randomly takes pictures of people and replicate the images with the closest objects that resembles the images, which is very creative and requires thought.
Final Evaluation
For my mock examination, I decided to take pictures of people and disguise their faces in an abstract way. I struggled throughout the process as I didn't know how to edit my images properly. I finally discovered Photoshop and started practicing with the different tools such as the lasso and layering tool etc. As I was editing on Photoshop, I was cutting different shapes and lines on the different colour layers, which disguised the person's face in a creative way. For my first final piece I used the lasso tool to cut lines into images, I made sure the lines were very straight to make my images look more professional. Then, I got bored of just having straight lines and started cutting random shapes to experiment with. As you can see from my second final piece, I cut the shapes freehand which I think looks a lot better. |
